Bonjour Mrs. Ross and My New Classmates:
Maddy here again writing to you from our house in France.
Yesterday I flew in from New York and it took over 18 hours!! It was VERY long. So, to cheer me up my family and I picked our grapes (vendange) in our very own vineyard. Since it was very hot and I had very little sleep I started to feel dizzy so I drank 5 cans of peach ice tea. To my surprise it made me feel much better.
We picked and picked for hours. Finally, after over 1000 pounds of grapes (raisens) we were OK to stop. So I am sure you are now wondering why we picked all these grapes. Well, our family makes our own wine (vin). About 100 cases a year. I do not like wine so much yet. But our friends say it is the best wine they ever had. My sisters really like it too. We even get to put the labels on the bottles in 2 years when the 2009 is ready to drink.
I look forward to writing all of you every week with my new French adventures. I LOVE COMMENTS and questions so please ask me a million and let me know you are reading my blog.
Tu me monque (I miss you all)

Maddy,I love reading about your adventures in France. Those grapes look beautiful. I bet the wine they create tastes delicious! Will you still be going to school 4 days a week this year? Keep me posted on what you are learning. Tell Mom and Dad I said Hello or I guess Bonjour!
Maddy,
We loved spending time with you in France!!!!!! We are so glad we met you on the plane. Have a great few months in France! We'll post more once we are home.

Maddy:
I'm sorry it took us so long to view your blog, we've been extremely busy here working and missing you!
We'd love to get a few questions answered.
1. Why do you love picking the grapes so much?
2. Do you eat the grapes while you're picking them?
3. How did you get your vineyard?
4. How do they stay "grape-like" when they're outside in the sun, instead of turning into raising. Do you water them a lot?
We can't wait to see you October. We're really excited for the Walk-a-Thon next week and we've already rasied $546.00!! We want to win the top prize of going to Gecko's Restaurant or Bounce U on a field trip! We'll let you know how we do at the walk-a-thon next Thursday. We miss you!!
ps - We think it's super awesome that you have your own website!
Hey Maddy! I hope you are doing well in France. I'm still taking French at school, and I'm not doing so great, the verbs keep messing me up.
I miss you and mom and dad!
