Dear Mrs. Brink, Mrs. Tomlin, and 5th Grade Class:
Hello Everyone:
Well you will not believe this but someone important must have been reading my blog! For those of you loyal readers, you will remember 2 weeks ago I wrote to all of you about the horrible food at the cantine (lunch room) at my school. Well my blog must have reached the President of France! Look at the headline in this week's paper. La Fin de la mal-Bouffe: which means "The End of The Bad Food. "

Many of you know that we have an enormous garden at our house here in France. And we have been growing a lot of our own great fresh food for years. Here are a few pictures for you of some of the things we grow. Some of the vegetables are as big as I am! One of my favorite things to do when I get home from school is go down to the garden and come back with a big basket of fruits and vegetables that my mom and dad cook with for dinner. We grow all sorts of things such as watermelons, cantelopes, raspberries, zuchinni, eggplant, green beans, peppers, artichokes, avocadoes, almonds, oranges, lemons, and all kinds of spices (and of course grapes too.) But my favorite are the bananas but they are still green as they are not ripe until January.

Comment Corner:
Katie: Hi Kat. I really miss you too. I am sorry I keep missing you when I call. It is 6 hours different here and most nights I am in bed when you get home from school. I'll keep trying. Love ya.
Mrs. Tomlin: I really love your comments Mrs. Tonlin. I can't wait until Monday morning as I know you will be writing . It makes my Mondays go better. It was great being with Justin. He is a really cool guy. Plus, I can't believe you were so close to our home here when you were in France. Maybe when you come next year we can go both places together? :-)
Mrs. Santello: You are so nice to write. You know it is because of you that I write these blogs every week. And it is great that you still read them after all those years Plus, you even remember Grace Kelly. Cool!
The Munsons: I can't wait to see you too. By the time you read this you might already be on the plane. Thanks for bringing my pancake mix. I need a good breakfast some days to get through the day with the bad food at school. See you Tuesday!!!
Mrs. Herrera: Hi Mrs. Herrera. It is great hearing from you. I know you would love Monaco so I will be your personal guide when you come. :-) Thanks for writing as it really made me happy to see your comment.

Well, you must be the school hero getting news all the way to the President. That's very funny how timely the article was. I think we need to put you to work here in the US. I have some issues I'd like to discuss with you to see if you can get some action :~)
Your garden sounds amazing. I cannot believe the size of the zucchini. I'm not a huge veggie fan (unless they are raw in a salad), but I love fresh fruit, especially raspberries! What happens to your garden when you're here in Florida? Who takes care of it?
I can't wait to hear about the crazy laws in your next blog!
Au revoir for now!
Thats really good about the food. When will the new food start being served? I hope you do not miss us too much!

Oh my goodness Maddy! You persuaded the President of France to have healthy lunches!!! WOW! Maybe you should show them how to grow their own fruits and vegetables! I love veggies especially tomatoes!!! They are a fruit....do you know why it is classified as a fruit? Let us know how your lunch menu improves....ok? Boy, you are the person we need to send to Mr. Stenger when we want something! HA! (I'm not kidding!)
Great!! There is no more mystery meat or that other gross stuff. What do you think they will be serving and when? I showed my family your blog on the gross food and they all said that the food was bought the month before or it was on sale, and they also said the mystery
meat is just over cooked steak. Well blog to you later!!

That is so funny! I think you are responsible! This weekend, while I was waiting for you to post your blog, I thought of the question, "Do the other kids think this food is bad or do they like it?" Well, you answered that!
I must say, those zucchini are awesome! What is your favorite French dish that your parents make when they are there????
Mrs. Santello :O)
Hi Maddy, I'm glad to hear the President is changing that nasty, disgusting food. That zucchini looked as big as you. My mom won't let me get a new bunny. My class is going on a camping trip in one month. Are we going to trick of treat together again this year? What are you going to be for Halloween? Do you have a costume yet? I don't have any idea what to be for Halloween. I really miss you. Talk to you soon.
Love Katie
Im glad you rembered me Maddy I can't wait until you come back. By the way your desk is right next to mine and she moved the classroom around. I got to go were starting math.
Awesome, no more yucky food for any of the kids in your school. Are any of the kid sad that the old food was being replaced by new fresh food? How happy are you since your blog was read by the president of France? Are you going to give some of your fruits and vegetables to the school? I hope you have nice lunches from now on and don't let the person who tells you to eat your lunch come to the lunch room. Talk to you later. By.
COME ON!!!!!!!!!! We can't get the pics! thats all because of the school District. How is the food? Still gross, huh. we learned how to use pixie on October 7 2010. please post back!!!!!
Michael
